The United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grandberg, announced on Friday a two-month humanitarian truce.
The UN envoy affirmed the response of all parties to the UN proposal for a two-month armistice to enter into force tomorrow, April 2, in which it was agreed to stop all offensive air, land and sea military operations inside Yemen and across its borders.
The UN envoy said: The two parties agreed to the entry of fuel ships to the ports of Hodeidah and commercial trips to work inside and outside Sanaa airport to predetermined destinations in the region. The truce can be renewed after a period of two months with the consent of the two parties.
He explained that the aim of this truce is to give Yemenis a necessary respite from violence and alleviation of suffering.

Recognizing the urgency necessary to reduce the escalation of violence and to address humanitarian and economic needs, the parties will implement a two-month truce starting on April 2, 2022 and ending on June 2, 2022, subject to extension. The aim of the truce is to provide a conducive environment for a peaceful settlement of the conflict. It is not intended to stop to allow any party to return its groups or resume military operations.
